Field Services
NRG Engine Services performs an extensive number of
services in
the field. We’ve detailed some of our offerings
here for
your reference – and would be happy to provide
additional
information and a quote upon
request.
Maintenance
- Major overhauls
- Outage maintenance support
- Preventive maintenance and program development—This includes
on-site maintenance and engine overhaul support in the areas of head
removal, liner replacement, bearing checks and replacement, turbocharger
replacement, periodic full engine evaluations, etc. We also offers
rebuild services for heads, injectors, air start valves, and other
rebuild components—which can save you time and money. We
believe we can keep your plant in top operating condition with a
minimum downtime
and hardware expenditure. In addition, we provide a complete package
of ongoing consultation, as well as mechanical maintenance during
times of equipment shutdown.
- 24-hour emergency breakdown
- Bi-monthly engine evaluation—NRG Engine Services recommends a
bi-monthly one-day outage on each engine for an engine condition
evaluation.
During such an outage, we will provide an advisor to evaluate the
engines
and provide hands-on training for owner personnel in special engine
preventive maintenance activities, which can only be taught while
the engine is in the shutdown condition. This effort will provide
ongoing
consultation to the owner and will also provide NRG Engine Services
with first-hand knowledge of the engine condition. This will allow
us to make timely recommendations on overhaul schedules and troubleshooting.
- Ultrasonic testing of master rods
- Consulting
- Plant maintenance audits
- Recordkeeping
Operational
- Turnkey installation and startup
- Operating procedures
- Operations services
- Baseline evaluation—The baseline examination includes a
review of all aspects of the facility’s operations, including
technical training, operating procedures, maintenance procedures,
safety training and safety programs, spare parts evaluations, preventive
maintenance and shut-down schedules, operating and maintenance
problem evaluations. The intent of the baseline evaluation is for
NRG Engine Services to fully understand the current practices at
the facility and to provide recommendations for overall improvement
at the facility, utilizing all of the ‘lessons learned’ from
the evaluation. The result of the baseline evaluation will be a
report outlining the areas we believe may be improved and an estimate
of time and costs to bring about such improvements. This baseline
evaluation is offered at a fixed fee, which includes a one-day
plant visit, report preparation and travel expenses.
- Environmental compliance
- Customized training—NRG Engine Services performs training
services at the owner’s facility or in Harrisburg. Training
can include, but is not necessarily limited to overhaul methods
of heads, injectors, air start valves, and other rebuild components;
engine adjustments, such as air-to-fuel ratio, fuel timing, combustion
balancing, etc.; and preventive maintenance and outage planning
services.
- Water chemistry
- Safety program
- Plant improvement programs—This includes engineering and
consulting support in the areas of programmable controls, electronic
controls, support on environmental issues and technologies, reliability
analysis, troubleshooting, engine operational or maintenance problem
solutions.
- Energy sales contract development
- Operations documentation
